MALAYSIA, BRAZIL TO DISCUSS BILATERAL COOPERATION, EXCHANGE VIEWS
PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia — Malaysia and Brazil are expected to explore potential areas in bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern during the working visit of Brazil’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Aloysio Nunes, beginning today until Thursday.
According to Wisma Putra’s (Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry) statement today, during the visit, Nunes is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and Foreign Minister Anifah Aman.
Wisma Putra said since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1959, the Malaysia-Brazil bilateral relations remained strong and enjoyed vibrant cooperation in numerous areas including trade and investment, education, security, defence and people-to-people relations.
Last year, total trade between the two countries amounted to US$2.73 billion (US$1=RM4.26) compared to US$2.52 billion (RM10.7 billion) in 2015.
