13 GOF Static Posts at Malaysia-Thailand Border in Sungai Golok Affected by Flood.


KOTA BHARU: A total of 13 static posts of the General Operations Force (GOF) in Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan on the Malaysia-Thailand border, Sungai Golok, have been affected by the floods. GOF Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid reported that out of the 13 posts, five have been closed due to flooding that reached the post floors, posing a threat to the safety of the GOF personnel on duty.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, all personnel stationed at the closed posts have been reassigned to other locations but continue their assignments as usual. Each sector of the Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan operation has been instructed to assist local residents in their respective sectors whose homes have been flooded.

Datuk Nik Ros Azhan further stated that for posts that remain open despite being affected by the floods, continuous monitoring of the water levels is being conducted. Personnel have been advised to remain vigilant, prioritize personal safety, and report immediately if the water level r
ises rapidly and approaches the post floor.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain continuing at dangerous levels until tomorrow. This weather is expected to affect the entire regions of Kelantan and Terengganu, as well as the Kuantan and Jerantut districts in Pahang.
