53 Int'l Figures, Entities Warn of Yemenis' Immediate Need to Humanitarian Aid (FARS News Agency (Iran))


TEHRAN (FNA)- A group of human rights activists and international figures in a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon voiced their concern about the Yemeni people’s dire need to humanitarian aid.

According to the International Union of Unified Ummah, the letter signed by 53 international human rights figures and organizations warned of the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen, and called for an immediate stop in the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes against the poor Arab nation.

In the letter signed by activists from the US, Britain, France, Scotland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Palestine, Cambodia, South Africa and Nigeria, the signatories urged immediate dispatch of humanitarian aid to Yemen.

The International Union of Unified Ummah has also signed the letter and protested at the UN’s contradictory policies and slow pace of relief works in Yemen.
