Cabinet Reshuffle And New Ministries A Leap Forward, Says Dennis

MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau sees the state cabinet reshuffle and creation of new ministries as a leap forward and in line with Vision 2030.

The creation of new ministries such as education and e-commerce is along the direction toward the development and progress of the state under the leadership and vision of the new Chief Minister, said Dennis.

He believed that the Ministry of Education would be able to resolve the problems faced by schools in rural and interior areas in Sarawak.

He said Puterajaya seemed to be not giving much emphasis to rural areas in the state although they are the backbone or stronghold of Barisan Nasional.

There is a lot that needs to be looked into in order to provide an effective and conducive teaching and learning environment. A number of schools are still not equipped with dining halls, assembly halls and sports fields, among others.

The inadequate teachers quarters have forced some teachers to live in the generator room and storeroom renovated into teacher’s room.

He regarded the creation of new ministries as a smart move to have more bargaining power with Puterajaya on providing basic infrastructure and amenities such as tar-sealed roads, clean water, 24-hour electricity, telephone and medical and health facilities.
