Jamilah Suggests Centex Provide Digital Technology Courses With Incubators

THE Centre of Technical Excellence (Centex) ought to provide digital technology courses complete with incubators.

Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu (PBB-Tanjong Datu) said this is additional to its existing courses related to the oil and gas and construction industry which will be available at the first technical centre in the state that’s estimated to cost RM10 million.

Centex will have a campus in Lundu that is currently under construction.

According to her, the provision of such courses is crucial to open up opportunities for youths to build their own enterprises and involve themselves in e-commerce.

I would like Centex Lundu to be able to offer courses that are trending among the youths such as digital animation, application development solutions and so on. I believe these courses hold dear to the hearts of youths today, she said in her maiden speech at the 18th State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting yesterday.

In view of this, Jamilah, who is the wife of the late former Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, called on the government to provide high-speed Internet starting from Lundu and start communication infrastructure such as fibre optics and underground cables from Sematan to benefit Centex and other related companies thus contributing to the development of eco-tourism industry in the constituency.
