BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR ZIMBABWEANS – MALAYSIAN EMBASSY

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — It is business as usual for the people in Zimbabwe as they went about their daily lives as normal and that the situation in the country now is under control, according to a statement from the Embassy of Malaysia in Harare.

“The tension and worries (among the people) have subsided and the Zimbabweans are now anxiously waiting for their new leader.”

“Malaysians can visit Zimbabwe. However, they are advised to be cautious and avoid crowded areas for the next few days as the people in Zimbabwe are still celebrating openly following the resignation of Robert Mugabe as the president,” said the statement which was emailed to Bernama.

The statement also mentioned that only three Malaysians had registered with the embassy.

“Only one (of them) is in Harare and is in touch with the embassy, while two others are outside the country but have contacted the embassy from time to time,” the statement said.
