Entrepreneurs Encouraged To Pursue Online Business
KUCHING: Enterpreneurs need to look into digital economy as many find shopping online more convenient than going to a brick-and-mortar store, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusuf.
He also advised them to have large storage facilities for their products as online business would attract customers worldwide.
If you have internet, you have your products, you can promote them in the cyberworld. This also means that you would need a large storage space. People want to order now and get it now, not in 14 days, he said at the launching of the Astana Ladies Night Flea Market on Saturday.
The flea market was held at Bangunan Choice Ria, Jalan Astana and organised by Koperasi Rezeki Kerjasama Kuching Berhad.
Fadillah urged those who have their own business, or who are about to start their own business, to master information technology in order to create a bigger market for their products.
He also encouraged youths to think about niche markets through market research, pointing out that there are young entrepreneurs who are still studying but earning RM8,000 a month from online businesses.
Think about offering something different which is in demand. Use the Blue Ocean Strategy. Don’t compete in existing markets as the competition is very tough, he said.
At the event, the minister also presented the Petra Jaya Liverpool Fan Club with a replica Premier League trophy for their win in a match held recently.
