Scholarships Worth RM2.24 Million For Youths In Batang Lupar
SRI AMAN: Kolej Optopreneur and Batang Lupar MP Service Centre are giving away education scholarships amounting to RM2.24 million through ‘The Giving Bank’, to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holders in the constituency who have yet to land a job.
According to The Giving Bank founder Dr Janson Ang, there are 100 scholarships for youths who want to further their studies at diploma level, but cannot afford it. Ang said the scholarships would be given to those who were determined in and committed to studying and completing their courses.
He said this at a recent briefing session here for students who were interested to apply for the scholarships.
He said the scholarship programme was initiated by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, who is Batang Lupar MP.
Rohani, who was present at the function, said everyone had the right to receive education.
The scholarship would give hope to the younger generation for a better future, she added.
Those not qualified to apply for diploma programme could choose certificate programme or English programme.
