MALAYSIAN PARALYMPIC CYCLING TEAM SHINES AT ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

NILAI, Malaysia, Feb 19 (Bernama) — The national paralympic track cycling team continued to put up a brilliant performance on the third day of the 2018 Asian Track Cycling Championships (ATC) after bagging two gold, two silver and a bronze Sunday.

The third gold for Malaysia at the championships, held at the National Velodrome here, was delivered by the duo, Mohd Khairul Hazwan Wahab-Mohd Nur Rizuan Zainal, who clocked four minutes 41.221 seconds in the men’s B sprint event.

The pair defeated their teammates, Muhammad Afiq Afify Rizan-Muhammad Khairul Adha Rasol, who clinched the silver while Aiman Asyraf Ahmad Bajuri-Mohd Faizal Mohamed Noh bagged the bronze.

Another gold medal was contributed by the duo, Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais-Noraidillina Adilla J. Sam, after recording 3:55.076’s to beat teammates Nur Syahida Tajudin-Nurul Suhada Zainal in the women’s B sprint event.

Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais-Noraidillina Adilla J. Sam improved their personal records of 4:04.000s set at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur ASEAN Para Games (KL2017) last August. — NNN-BERNAMA
