KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (NNN-Bernama) The national hockey squad scored an inspiring 3-0 win against 2016 Rio Olympic champions, Argentina in their second friendly match at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil here after losing 2-3 in the first match Wednesday.

Malaysia opened the score in the second minute via a penalty corner by Muhammad Razie Abd Rahim followed by field goals by Muhammad Firhan Ashaari (16th minute) and Mohd Fitri Saari (29th minute).

Malaysia coach Stephen Van Huizen said today’s match is not a good indication because it is just a practice match.

“But it is a good for us because we have a chance to play against Olympics champions ahead of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup (PSAS). They were not as sharp as yesterday, still trying to get use to the weather, but once the tournament begins, it is serious business,”he said. NNN-BERNAMA
