MALAYSIA: USE PROPER CHANNEL TO WORK ABROAD FOREIGN MINISTRY

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia The Foreign Ministry has reminded Malaysians who are planning to work abroad to use proper channel and procedures set by the countries involved.

In a statement yesterday, the Wisma Putra (Malaysian Foreign Ministry) said these group of people should obtain a work visa first before going abroad.

Do not be fooled by certain schemes that promise overseas employment if the work visa or permit is not obtained beforehand, said the statement, which was issued in response to a local daily report yesterday about an estimated 5,000 Malaysians allegedly working and staying illegally in South Korea.

Wisma Putra said members of the public could submit any enquiry into the matter directly to any Malaysian representative office abroad.

Information about these offices can be obtained at www.kln.gov.my.
