Post-tsunami: Survivors urgently need clean water and temporary shelter
BANTEN (Indonesia), Jan 9 (Bernama) — Clean water and temporary shelters are the two most urgent needs of the victims whose houses were destroyed or washed away by the tsunami that followed an eruption and partial collapse of the Anak Krakatau volcano in the Sunda Strait on Dec 22, last year.
Bernama check around Sumur here found that most families were forced to set up makeshift tents using canvas and wood plank at roadsides as their temporary shelters.
Some were seen taking shelter under the zinc roof they collected from their damaged houses.
