Datasonic bags RM28.8 million deal from Home Affairs Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Datasonic Group Bhd, has bagged a RM28.79 million contract from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) to provide maintenance services for the card personalisation centres at the National Registration Department.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Datasonic said the contract was for a two-year period from June 1, 2019, to May 31, 2021, with an option to extend for another year.

“Under the letter of award from the ministry, DTSB is required to furnish a performance bond for the amount of RM719.64 million to KDN, with validity period commencing from June 1, 2019, to May 31, 2022,” it said.

The e-services provider said the contract was expected to contribute positively towards the group’s earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending March 31, 2020, and the financial years thereafter for the duration of the contract.

“It will not have any effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of the group,” it added.
