Miri cops arrest armed robbery gang

MIRI, Police solved eleven recent cases, a majority of them involving the robbery of grocery shops and 24-hour convenience stores, after arresting three men here today.

Miri district police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the suspects, who are locals and aged between 25 and 37, are believed to be responsible for various crimes, including armed robbery, theft and mischief in the city.

All three suspects are unemployed. The first suspect, aged 31 was nabbed in Tudan at 3.20pm, followed by the 37-year-old second suspect in Jalan Dato Permaisuri at 4pm, he said in a statement here, today.

The third suspect, aged 25, was arrested in a house in Jalan Maigold Golden Royal Villa, Senadin at 5.10pm, Lim said.

Among the items seized from the suspects were a parang, a motorcycle and a Perodua Axia car believed to have been used to commit the crimes.
