Perak exco case: DAP to wait for results of police investigations

KUALA LUMPUR, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party will wait for the results of police investigations before making any decision on the Perak executive councillor (exco) member alleged to have sexually assaulted his maid.

“At the party or state-government level, we will wait for the outcome of the police investigations,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today adding that he had discussed the matter with Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

He said this when asked if the party would take action against the exco member.

The media had earlier reported an Indonesian woman lodged a police report at the Jelapang police station last Monday claiming she had been raped by the man.

Perak police chief Datuk Razarudin Husain reportedly said the exco member was detained on Tuesday to assist investigations and later released on police bail.
