COVID-19: Six returning Thai soldiers among 10 new cases


Thailand has recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, including six Thai soldiers who returned from Hawaii, the United States after a military exercise.


Thailand today marked its 60th day without local transmission, with the tally at 3,279 cases.




Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesman Thaweesilp Wissanuyothin said all the new cases involve Thais undergoing compulsory quarantine at state facility after returning from abroad.


The other four returned from Sudan, Pakistan, Germany and the Netherlands.


“A total of 342 returnees undergoing 14-day quarantine at state facilities have tested positive for COVID-19 since April 3,” he said at a COVID-19 briefing today.



To date, 3,279 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the kingdom with 58 fatalities.


A total of 3,107 patients have recovered and returned home and 114 remain warded.
