Indonesia has reported 3,509 new positive cases of COVID-19 within a period of 24 hours, bringing the total number to 278,722.
Based on data from the official Twitter account of the republic’s National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) today, 131,361 patients were still being monitored for the viral infection.
Between noon yesterday and noon today, 87 more deaths occurred, bringing the cumulative figure to 10,473.
Jakarta province still has the highest total number of positive cases, with 71,339 including 898 new cases.
East Java province has recorded the highest total number of fatalities, with 3,138, followed by Jakarta (1,695), Central Java (1,397) and the other Indonesian provinces.
