Vizione’s unit shortlisted to develop Papar Dam in Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR, Vizione Holdings Bhd announced that its joint-venture company with Pembinaan Maju Cemerlang Sdn Bhd (PMCSB) has accepted a letter of intent (LOI) from the Sabah State Water Department (JANS) for the development of Papar Dam and associated water supply works.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the construction firm said the LOI informed that its wholly-owned subsidiary Wira Syukur (M) Sdn Bhd and PMCSB had been shortlisted and requested to discuss with JANS on the terms and conditions to design and build the project.

“The project will have the capacity to supply 1,000 MLD (million litres per day) water supply and generation of 100 MW electricity. The capacity of the dam is expected to provide the people of Sabah with a strategic water resource that can supply the water needs of Kota Kinabalu and the west coast of Sabah for the next 50 years,” the company said.

The statement did not give the value of the project.

On the rationale for taking on the job, Vizione said it would expand its customer base, enlarge the group’s order book and provide a steady stream of revenue.
