The Malaysian Armed Forces through the Joint Task Force 2 (ATB 2) is increasing the effectiveness of operations at the country’s borders here, with the use of the latest high-tech assets, drones.
ATB 2 Headquarters commander, Brigadier General Johari Mohd Jaafar said the operation of the drones would further enhance the capability of ATB 2 in carrying out Joint Op Benteng, especially in terms of operations and air intelligence in high risk areas
“The density of settlements on the coast of Tawau and large swampy areas require a large number of members of the security forces to control.
‘’However, moving drones to the areas concerned can cover operational constraints,” he said in a statement here, today.
Johari said, fast moving teams and drones could be combined so that the channelling of information could be used as a moving platform for further restraining actions.
