Health Minister inspects KLIA screening facilities before flying off to Langkawi

Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba today spent some time to inspect the COVID-19 screening facilities at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) before flying off to Langkawi for official duties.

In a posting on ‘Friends of Dr Adham Baba’ on Facebook, the Health Minister also took the opportunity to greet the frontliners who were stationed at the airport.

The inspection was also to see for himself the standard operating procedure (SOP) enforcement and compliance, the new norms and the need to upgrade the health facilities at KLIA, following a meeting with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir yesterday to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“Thank you to the country’s frontliners who are committed to ensuring Malaysians are free from the pandemic,” he said.

It is understood that Dr Adham left for Langkawi to meet the health frontliners and review the system as well as green equipment technology programme at Sultanah Maliha Hospital, which recently received the LEED International (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Award 2020.

The minister will also listen to a briefing on the status of the health system in Langkawi to find out the current and future needs.

He is also scheduled to visit the District Health Office, Temoyong Health Clinic and Ayer Hangat Health Clinic.
