Driver killed in collision between lorry and trailer

A lorry driver was killed after his vehicle rammed into the back of a trailer carrying timber at KM 158 of Jalan Kuala Lumpur-Kuantan near here today.

Temerloh district police chief ACP Mohd Yusri Othman said the victim, Sanussi Noor, 41, died on the spot in the 6.59 am accident while his attendant Muhammad Fikri Radziffullah,19, suffered injuries to his knees.

The trailer driver, Ashvin Kumar, 27, who was on his way from Raub to Mentakab, claimed that he sounded the horn on seeing a lorry from the opposite direction entering his lane, he said.

“The trailer driver tried to avoid the oncoming lorry and swerved to the kerb before the victim’s lorry rammed into the back of the trailer and went off the road,” he said in a statement.
