Melaka police to receive 31 four-wheel drive vehicles

MELAKA,– Melaka police will receive 31 Toyota Hilux GS-Cargo Single Cab 2.4 (MT) vehicles worth over RM4.8 million in stages this year to replace the ageing Land Rovers.

Melaka police chief Datuk Abdul Majid Mohd Ali said under the first phase, the state police will receive 16 units of the vehicle worth over RM2.5 million for common usage.

He said of the total, six units would be stationed at the Melaka Tengah district police headquarters (IPD), Alor Gajah IPD (four), Jasin IPD (four) and the Melaka Police Contingent Headquarters (two).

“Melaka police will receive another 15 Toyota Hilux GS-Cargo Single Cab 2.4 (MT) vehicles under the second phase, also this year, to replace the Land Rovers.

‘’As such, we hope we can provide more efficient services at the stations or districts headquarters to the satisfaction of the communities with the replacements of the vehicles,’’ he told reporters after closing a 2021 Melaka IPK basic security escort protection course here today.

The handing over of the 16 Toyota Hilux GS-Cargo Single Cab 2.4 (MT) vehicles to the representatives of the contingent and IPD also took place during the ceremony which was also attended by state CID chief ACP Mohd Sukri Kaman.
