Man burnt to death in car

A 48-year-old man was burnt to death after his car caught fire at Jalan Bagan Seberang, Kampung Kuala Gula in Bagan Serai today.

Kuala Kurau Fire and Rescue station chief Muhamad Irham Mohd Zin said it received a distress call at 10.41 am.

“When the firemen arrived, the Honda car was almost 90 per cent burnt,” he said when contacted.

He said the victim was identified as Ong Yean Tong.

Meanwhile, Kerian Police chief Supt Mazuki Mat said initial investigation found no criminal element in the incident and the victim’s body was taken to the Parit Buntar Hospital.
