SEPANG: In an industry progressively shaped by technological innovation, Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), the maintenance, repair, and operation (MRO) arm of Capital A Bhd, is strategically leveraging digital tools, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation to bolster efficiency and profitability.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, ADE’s chief executive officer, Mahesh Kumar, highlighted the company’s commitment to integrating advanced technologies to optimize its operations while maintaining a streamlined organizational structure. He emphasized substantial investments in digitalisation, automation, and AI, including the use of RFID tooling to efficiently track equipment during aircraft servicing, thereby minimizing the risk of tool misplacement.
Kumar elaborated on ADE’s technological initiatives, citing the Aerotrade marketplace and Elevade app as significant developments. Aerotrade, conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic, has matured into a significant platform within the aviation sector, managing over
US$200 million (RM884 million) in inventories from various global sources. Meanwhile, the Elevade app enhances maintenance operations with predictive and preventive maintenance capabilities, advanced analytics, fleet tracking, and cabin monitoring, offering real-time solutions for aircraft health.
Capital A introduced ADE in 2020 to fortify its MRO capabilities and establish itself as a prominent entity in the regional aviation maintenance industry. Recently, ADE inaugurated a 14-line hangar at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the largest of its kind in the country, covering 20.25 acres within the KLIA Aeronautical Support Zone 1 under Malaysia Airports’ KLIA Aeropolis development. This expansion underscores ADE’s focus on innovation and efficiency to meet the increasing demands of the aviation industry.
