Detailed SOP for Keluarga Malaysia Citrawarna programme to be announced Tuesday – Nancy

KUCHING, Feb 21 — The National Security Council (MKN) will announce a more detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) regarding the organisation of the 2022 Keluarga Malaysia Citrawarna programme by Tuesday.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the NSC would meet again as several SOPs would be amended based on requests from the agencies involved.

“The initial SOP prepared by Sarawak JPBN (State Disaster Management Committee) is already in place… there may be new SOPs that will be further refined (in the meeting),” she said at a press conference here today.

The Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia programme to be held for four days from Feb 24 at the Kuching Waterfront themed the Festival of Cultural Diversity, will provide a colourful fiesta with a variety of tourism programmes and activities lined up, apart from Malaysian arts and culture performances.

Earlier, Nancy informed that only 2,450 visitors were allowed to attend the highlight event, namely the gala night of the Keluarga Malaysia Citrawarna Programme which will be held on Feb 26, and expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Nancy said among the SOPs that had been drafted included increasing the number of canopies from one to seven with each one limited to 350 people, with law enforcement personnel placed to ensure the limit on the number of attendees in the tents was complied with.

Apart from the gala night on Saturday, several other events planned to enliven the programme were the Sarawak craft festival, Sape concert, Sarawak drum festival, Malaysian textile craft fashion show, food bazaar as well as fireworks displays and musical fountains.
