KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan government has called on the public to avoid spreading false information or speculate on the ongoing flood disaster in the state. State Secretary Datuk Nazran Muhammad emphasized the importance of seeking confirmation from relevant authorities on any uncertain matters and urged the community to remain calm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Nazran Muhammad, during a visit to flood victims at the relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Melor, advised the public, “If there is something uncertain, please consult the authorities or request their assistance.” This statement highlights the government’s concern over the potential spread of misinformation during the flood crisis.
When questioned about the need for volunteer assistance from other states, Nazran stated that Kelantan is currently relying on local volunteers as the situation remains under control. He noted that the state has received commendable cooperation from various agencies, including the Malaysian Armed Forces
and the Royal Malaysia Police, ensuring an effective response to the flood disaster.
