Hajiji Urges GRS Partners To Prioritise People Over Party Interests.

KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has urged leaders of the coalition’s component parties to set aside self-interest and avoid actions that could undermine the coalition’s efforts to support the welfare of the people. He emphasized the importance of the coalition’s original mission to develop Sabah and protect the interests of its people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji highlighted the need for GRS component party leaders to prioritize the needs of the people over their own interests. He warned that focusing solely on individual and party interests could hinder the coalition’s mission and impede their efforts to govern and serve the people. He called on allies within GRS to unite in their mission to develop Sabah, urging them to let go of ego and any thoughts that could disrupt their mission.

Hajiji made these remarks during the GRS Students Convention in Sembulan, where he was joined by other prominent figures including United Sabah National Organisation (US
NO) president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Tan Sri Anifah Aman, and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk Chin Su Phin. The GRS coalition consists of several component parties, including Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR), USNO, Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (PHRS), LDP, and PCS.

Commenting on the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election (PRN), Hajiji noted that the coalition has a year to prepare before the State Legislative Assembly is dissolved. He mentioned that discussions among all GRS component parties and other political parties, particularly Pakatan Harapan (PH), are expected to take place this month. These discussions will focus on seat distribution for the upcoming state election, with meetings planned within GRS and Gagasan Rakyat to address collaboration with other parties, especially PH.
