BANGKOK, Informa Markets Thailand anticipates Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2024, the largest medical laboratory and medical device trade show and conference in Southeast Asia, to generate over 1.64 billion Baht (RM212 million) in trade value.

Informa Markets Thailand’s regional portfolio group director for ASEAN, Rungphech Chitanuwat said the event provides unparalleled opportunities for entrepreneurs, industry professionals and medical personnel to network, connect businesses, share knowledge and update on the latest medical advancement.

Held from July 10-12, Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2024 is organised by Informa Markets Thailand, in conjunction with the International Healthcare Week.

‘We anticipate the event to attract 10,000 attendees from 50 countries worldwide, drawing 350 leading global companies to establish networks and foster growth in the medical laboratory and medical device industry in the ASEAN region,” she said in a statement today.

Rungphech said the medical laboratory and healthcare busi
ness in Thailand has significantly improved compared to last year, due to increased demand for medical devices following the expansion of hospitals and healthcare facilities, the rise in the elderly population and the public’s growing health awareness.

“These are key factors driving the growth in Thailand’s medical device business,” she said.

Earlier, Thailand’s vice-minister for public health, Thanakrit Jitareerat officiated the launch of the event, which was also attended by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, Datuk Jojie Samuel.

Ten Malaysian companies are participating in the event, showcasing a wide range of products, including clean room manufacturing, air ventilation systems, smart sensors for data loggers, tubes, electric potential therapy devices, collapsible tubes, disposable tourniquets, and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) rapid test kits.

Reezal Merican is scheduled to launch the Malaysian
International Healthcare Forum, co-organised by MATRADE and Informa Markets, which aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the dynamics of Malaysia’s healthcare industry.
