KPDN foils subsidised diesel embezzlement in Nilai

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) crippled subsidised diesel embezzlement activities following a raid on a premises in Nilai Industrial Area today.

KPDN secretary-general Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said the raid under Ops Tiris was conducted at 4 am today and two men were detained, including a lorry driver, suspected of transferring diesel.

He said the team found 11,000 litres of diesel, several empty tanks, tanks filled with diesel, a lorry, and other equipment used for diesel misappropriation at the premises that is believed to have been used as a warehouse to store and transfer diesel.

“Checks also revealed that the premises did not have a valid licence or documents from the supply controller to carry out activities involving controlled goods, like subsidised diesel.

“All the items found were seized for further investigations, with the total seizure valued at RM53,550,” he said in a statement today.
