MAIPs hopes to strengthen cooperation with Religious Council of Krabi

KRABI (THAILAND) Aug 5 (Bernama) — The Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council of Perlis (MAIPs) hopes that its ‘Hijrah Minda’ programme can further its ties and cooperation with the Islamic Religious Council of Krabi.

MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said that the bilateral ties and cooperation had actually existed for a long time, but still had to be strengthened and brought to greater heights.

“We hope that programmes such as this ‘Hijrah Minda’ programme will further increase our cooperation with the six Southern Adaman Provinces of Thailand namely Krabi, Ranong, Phuket, Phang Nga, Trang and Satun

“The Muslim community in Krabi, for example, seems interested in learning more about waqf management and we are more than willing to share our knowledge and expertise in waqf management and in other matters including Islamic education to help Islamic religious councils in the Adaman Province of Southern Thailand,” he told reporters here today.

The Hijrah Minda is a pocket event under MAIPs’ three-day Ziarah Mahabbah programme led by the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, to Phuket, Thailand.

The delegates are travelling in a bus and had stopped in Satun earlier before they made another stop at the Ban Huailuk Mosque here.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail also presented a donation of RM5,500 (42,000 Thai Baht) to the Imam of Ban Huailuk mosque, Sawas Pracha.
