KUALA NERUS: Terengganu FC (TFC) midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov has officially extended his stay with the club until December next year. Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) Chief Executive Officer Mohd Sabri Abas announced that the Uzbekistan-born player’s current contract, which was set to expire in a month, has been renewed for another year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, despite receiving offers from other clubs, the 1.72-metre-tall player opted to remain with the Turtles. Mohd Sabri revealed that Tukhtasinov signed the contract extension yesterday, committing to the club until December 2025. He expressed the club’s excitement and honor in retaining such a dedicated and hardworking player.
Mohd Sabri further noted that Tukhtasinov’s decision to stay would delight fans and reassure management, particularly after the club’s recent loss of two foreign players. Dutch player Matthew Steenvorden and Marin Pilj ended their contracts early due to personal issues, leaving TFC in need of retaining their ke
y players.
Currently, TFC has five other import players: Ismaheel Akinade, Argzim Redzovic, Manuel Ott, Nelson Bonilla, and Nnabuike Chijiok. The retention of Tukhtasinov is seen as a strategic move to maintain the team’s competitive edge in the upcoming seasons.
