\nMANILA: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of dangerous heat index levels in six areas across the country on Friday.<\/p>\n
Based on the weather bureau’s 5 p.m. forecast on Thursday, the following areas may have a heat index ranging from 42\u00b0C to 44\u00b0C on Friday:<\/p>\n
Dagupan City, Pangasinan – 44\u00b0C<\/p>\n
Bacnotan, La Union – 43\u00b0C<\/p>\n
Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 42\u00b0C<\/p>\n
Aborlan, Palawan – 42\u00b0C<\/p>\n
Catarman, Northern Samar – 42\u00b0C<\/p>\n
Cotabato City, Maguindanao – 42\u00b0C<\/p>\n
PAGASA said heat index is what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature.<\/p>\n
The bureau advised the public to limit the time spent outdoors, especially at noon, and drink plenty of water.<\/p>\n
People going outdoors are reminded to use umbrellas or wear hats and sleeved clothing.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the whole country will continue to experience generally fair weather conditions.<\/p>\n
The entire archipelago will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea
\ns.<\/p>\n
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 26\u00b0C to 33\u00b0C; Baguio City, 17\u00b0C to 24\u00b0C; Laoag City, 25\u00b0C to 33\u00b0C; Legazpi City, 24\u00b0C to 32\u00b0C; Metro Cebu, 26\u00b0C to 32\u00b0C; and Metro Davao, 25\u00b0C to 35\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
