{"id":57971,"date":"2022-05-18T07:06:43","date_gmt":"2022-05-18T07:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pr.asianetpakistan.com\/?p=91930"},"modified":"2022-05-18T07:06:43","modified_gmt":"2022-05-18T07:06:43","slug":"ecotone-announces-e20-million-investment-to-meet-growing-demand-for-plant-based-beverages-in-the-european-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysiantribune.com\/ecotone-announces-e20-million-investment-to-meet-growing-demand-for-plant-based-beverages-in-the-european-market\/","title":{"rendered":"ECOTONE ANNOUNCES \u20ac20 MILLION INVESTMENT TO MEET GROWING DEMAND FOR PLANT-BASED BEVERAGES IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>18 MAY 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>ECOTONE <\/strong><strong>ANNOUNCES<\/strong><strong> \u20ac20 MILLION <\/strong><strong>INVESTMENT <\/strong><strong>TO MEET GROWING DEMAND <\/strong><strong>FOR <\/strong><strong>PLANT-BASED BEVERAGES<\/strong><strong> IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Ecotone, a pioneer in organic and plant-based alternatives in France and Europe, <\/strong><strong>has announced a<\/strong><strong> \u20ac20 million<\/strong><strong> investment<\/strong><strong> in its plant-based beverage production site<\/strong><strong> located <\/strong><strong>in Badia Polesine, <\/strong><strong>N<\/strong><strong>orthern Italy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Th<\/strong><strong>e<\/strong><strong> major investment has enabled the creation of a new production line, <\/strong><strong>now<\/strong><strong> in operation, making the <\/strong><strong>factory <\/strong><strong>one of the largest <\/strong><strong>plant-based drinks producers <\/strong><strong>in Europe<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>A plant-based beverage factory 4.0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ecotone&#8217;s investment in its Italian site, and development of a new production line, will enable it to produce <strong>an additional 27 million lit<\/strong><strong>res<\/strong> of plant-based beverages per year \u2013 a 30% increase in production capacity.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This major investment is part of the group&#8217;s strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of its production sites, focusing on innovation and automation, while driving forward sustainability throughout its operations.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">With the aim of making the Badia Polesine site a flagship of Industry 4.0, the investment focus has been on automation, including the implementation of an internal pallet flow management system via laser-guided vehicles.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">A reorganisation of the factory\u2019s production workshop also allows for increased automation \u2013<br \/>\nwith <strong>50% of <\/strong><strong>its<\/strong><strong> intralogistics <\/strong>requiring no human intervention, with a fully automated production flow between bottling and loading pallets into trucks. Allowing for more efficient palletising, the new installation also reduces <strong>the use of plastic by <\/strong><strong>15%<\/strong> and optimises transport with the <strong>elimination of 58 tons of CO2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Operating at the Badia Polesine site since 1993, Ecotone has chosen this location to be as close as possible to the production basins of the organic raw materials necessary for the manufacture of its products.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The factory, which produces organic plant-based drinks for brands including Bjorg, Bonneterre, Isola Bio, Abbott Kinney&#8217;s and EcoCesta, <strong>now employs 163 people<\/strong> across a site that extends over 14,000<sup>m2<\/sup>, making it one of the largest European production sites of its kind.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Across five production lines, 120 million litres of plant-based drinks leave the factory each year.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The investments made over the last three years to bring production up to Industry 4.0 standards, and the opening of an additional production line, have created<strong> 32 <\/strong><strong>new <\/strong><strong>job <\/strong><strong>positions<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> mainly in technical and R&amp;D functions. More hires are expected as the volume of production increases.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">With its valuable know-how, the Badia Polesine factory represents a <strong>European centre of excellence for research and development<\/strong> of plant-based beverages. Firmly anchored in a promising market with great growth opportunities, Ecotone has more than <strong>20 years of experience <\/strong>in the manufacture of plant-based drinks.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>E<\/strong><strong>cotone, a committed player in the preservation of the environment and biodiversity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ecotone, a company with a B-Corp certified mission, intends to have an ever more demanding and exemplary approach to CSR.
