KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) — Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed his condolences to the family of former athlete and national fencing coach, Ronnie Ignatius Theseira, who died yesterday.<\/P>
Also conveying condolences on Istana Negara’s Facebook page today was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.<\/P>
Ronnie, 92, who helped introduce fencing in Malaysia in the 1950s, died of old age.<\/P>
<\/P>
He represented Malaysia in fencing at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and was also a founder of the Malaysian Amateur Fencing Association, coaching most of the national fencers in the 1970s and 1980s.<\/P>
