Perimeter Survey Exercise For Sungai Limo, Kpg Sempadi

KUCHING: Two decades of waiting will finally be over for the villagers in Kampung Sempadi and Sungai Limo in Lundu as the state government has given the green light for the areas to undergo a perimeter survey exercise.

According to a press statement from PBB Santubong service centre, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has agreed that both areas are to be gazetted as a Village Communal Reserve under Section 7 of the State Land Code during a meeting on Sept 8 last year.

The meeting was initiated by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar together with Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

In the statement, Wan Junaidi, who is also Santubong MP, said the decision by the state government to gazette the land is a reflection of its caring attitude on the welfare and security of the villagers.

He called upon the villagers to give their cooperation to the Land and Survey Department during the perimeter survey exercise to expedite its process.

However, no date as to when the perimeter survey exercise would be carried out was mentioned in the press statement.
