KUALA LUMPUR, The Kembara Sains Borneo 2024 (KSB 2024) programme, organised by the National Science Centre (PSN), has so far brought an exciting learning experience in science and technology to 13,000 students.
Through this programme, PSN has also brought a special feature, the PSN Trooperz On The Move bus, equipped with 14 interactive exhibits covering various topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The PSN Trooperz On The Move bus, which focuses on ‘hands on, hearts on, minds on’ activities, has been on its mission since 2007, aimed at fostering creative and innovative thinking as well as stimulating minds towards scientific thinking among students.
PSN director Mohammad Fuad Rahman said that with the exhibition bus, PSN would be able to expand its reach across the country to provide the unique experience of a science centre to the public.
He said the objective of the PSN Trooperz On The Move is, among others, to enhance the accessibility of information and the level of scie
nce literacy among Malaysians.

‘Through this exhibition bus, PSN also hopes to correct the public’s perception of science, besides increasing confidence in the importance of the STI (science, technology, and innovation) field to the development of Malaysia MADANI,’ he said in a statement.
Mohammad Fuad added that PSN is continuously active throughout Malaysia to engage with the public, regardless of social background and geographical constraints, in an effort to bring the STI field directly to them.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal, visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sri Nangka, Tuaran, and Sekolah St Joseph, Papar, in conjunction with KSB 2024 on Thursday (Aug 15).
Also present were Mohammad Fuad; Secretary of the STI Culture and Services Division, Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) Abdullah Daud; Country Head Malaysia and Vietnam Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad Dr Pascal Hos; and Head of Communi

KSB 2024, a special programme by PSN since 2015, serves as a platform for PSN to reach out to students and communities in rural areas, aiming to cultivate interest in the STEM field through interactive and creative learning methods.

Mohammad Fuad said the KSB 2024 programme is touring ten districts in Sabah, starting in Lahad Datu through Kinabatangan and Ranau, before concluding in Kota Kinabalu.
He added that the programme would then continue its journey to five districts in Sarawak, starting in Miri and ending in Kuching.
‘This expedition involves more than 20 selected schools, with several other schools serving as stopover locations, with an estimated 20,000 participants benefiting from the programme.

s Experiment, STEM Challenge, mini planetarium, and Planet Virtual Reality,’ he said.
KSB 2024 is jointly organised by PSN and MOSTI in collaboration with strategic partners consisting of government and private agencies, with the main sponsor of the programme being Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad.
Mohammad Fuad stated that the strategic partnership between PSN and Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad reflects the dedication and commitment of the private sector in supporting the government’s initiative to promote the culture of STI among Malaysians.
