Tsunami survivors continue their struggle to move on

BANTEN (Indonesia), Survivors of tsunami that struck Sunda Strait last month, each in their own way, contemplate the toll it has taken on their lives and continue their struggle to move on.

Now, more than two weeks after the disaster hit them in Sumur and Taman Jaya 2, two of the affected districts, the survivors tried to live as normal as possible as the affected areas have not fully recovered after being flattened by the tsunami.

Bernama’s recent check at the two districts found the survivors working together to clean up their homes and children look cheerful while bathing in the sea despite being instructed by the National Agency for Disaster Management, Indonesia (BNPB) to avoid the coastal area.
