50 Tonnes Of Rejected, Scrap Gloves Seized In Permatang Pauh Raid

Permatang pauh: The Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), in collaboration with the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), raided premises in Permatang Pauh today, believed to be actively buying, storing, and selling rejected and scrap rubber gloves without a valid permit. LGM, through its Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit, seized nearly 50 tonnes of rubber gloves stored in jumbo bags and sacks, including weighing equipment, with a total value of over RM230,000.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the activity is an offence under Regulation 22(1)(b) of the Malaysian Rubber Board (Licensing and Permit) Regulations 2014. The regulation specifies that no person shall buy, store, or sell rejected rubber gloves and scrap rubber gloves unless they hold a PST-G Permit. If convicted, the individual involved may be fined not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisoned for up to two years, or both, as stated in a statement released by LGM tonight.
