ISTANBUL: The Academy of Higher Education Leadership (AKEPT), in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), has been awarded the Best Paper Award for their presentation on Competency-Based Talent Management in Higher Education Institutions at a prestigious conference in Istanbul.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, AKEPT announced that the award-winning paper, titled 'An Institutional Leadership Framework on University Academics Decision to Become Institutional Leaders', was presented at the International Conference on Current Issues in Education 2024 (IC-CIE). The paper highlights the significance of a comprehensive, holistic talent selection process to sustain effective leadership within higher education institutions.

The presentation was delivered by a team that included Associate Professor Dr. Norazharuddin Shah Abdullah, the deputy director of the AKEPT talent management centre, AKEPT chief assistant secretary Azian Azman, and UiTM representatives Professor Dr. Erlane K. Ghani and Professor Dr. Ismie Roha Mohamed Jais.

AKEPT further stated that, as part of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), it is dedicated to advancing competency-based talent management, aligned with the MADANI concept. This approach underscores leadership values focused on fairness and humanitarian principles, essential for nurturing future generations to address the nation's multifaceted needs across various sectors.
