Shah alam: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has acknowledged proposing PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar as a potential successor for his current role as the Selangor Menteri Besar.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin revealed that he had discussed the proposal with Nurul Izzah, leaving the decision to her discretion. He mentioned that appointing Nurul Izzah could be a strategic move to counter any perceptions or stigmas associated with nepotism.
Amirudin shared these insights during a recent episode of the podcast “Keluar Sekejap,” hosted by Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Sufian Hamdan. During the discussion, he addressed Khairy’s inquiry about the possibility of Nurul Izzah contesting a Selangor state seat and assuming the role of Menteri Besar.
Furthermore, Amirudin, who also serves as the Gombak MP, expressed his readiness to take on responsibilities at the federal level, indicating his openness to transitioning from state to national governance.
