Anwar Praises Johor’s Commitment to Enhancing Heritage Assets

Johor bahru: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has commended the Johor government for its ongoing efforts to upgrade heritage assets and enhance the state's tourism attractions. These efforts are in line with the objectives of the Visit Johor 2026 (TMJ2026) campaign.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that these initiatives not only align with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign but also contribute to the national agenda by boosting the local economy and preserving the nation's identity and history. In a Facebook post, he highlighted the importance of these efforts in maintaining cultural heritage.

Johor is aiming for the arrival of 12 million tourists this year as part of TMJ2026, with anticipated revenue exceeding RM42 billion for the state. Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, recently visited the Royal Abu Bakar Museum, located at the Grand Palace of Johor. The museum is recognized as a repository of the Sultanate of Johor's historical and cultural heritage, featuring well-preserved artifacts and an attractive landscape.

Anwar's visit to Johor Bahru included traveling aboard the Electric Train Service 3 (ETS3) from the federal capital with his family. During the visit, they also took the opportunity to explore the Johor Zoo.
