BUDI95 Programme Faces Technical Challenges Ahead of September 30 Launch

George town: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is collaborating with the Road Transport Department (RTD) to swiftly address technical issues concerning the eligibility verification for the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme before its scheduled launch on September 30. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying shared that several public complaints have been received regarding ineligibility notifications despite individuals possessing valid driving licences and MyKad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Lim highlighted that although these instances are isolated and affect a limited number of individuals, the ministry is taking them seriously. Efforts are underway to resolve these issues prior to the full implementation of BUDI95 on Tuesday. Lim urged the public to verify their eligibility on the official website and submit complaints if problems arise, enabling swift investigation and action.

Lim emphasized that eligible Malaysians are entitled to the BUDI95 benefits, and while minor delays and technical glitches may occur, the ministry is committed to resolving these issues promptly. She reassured the public to remain calm and continue with their usual purchasing habits as the programme allows for up to 300 litres per month per eligible individual, to be purchased at their convenience.

The implementation of BUDI95 for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients, who form the second group to benefit from the initiative starting today, is proceeding smoothly nationwide without any reported issues. Lim noted that various methods, including the Setel application, cash, and the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet, have been successfully tested.

As of September 25, the MOF reported that 8.1 million users have checked their eligibility through the official website, indicating a strong public response to the programme.
