KUALA LUMPUR: The Budimas Charitable Foundation raised RM400,000 at its 6th annual fundraising gala to support underprivileged and Orang Asli children in Malaysia, held at a hotel here on Friday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tunku Datuk Yaacob Khyra, chairman of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility toward society’s most vulnerable members during his speech at the event. He stressed that the funds raised would offer hope, stability, and a brighter future to children in need. The black-tie event was attended by over 400 supporters, business partners, and community members.
Anne Rajasaikaran, the Principal Officer of the foundation, emphasized the ongoing mission to expand the foundation’s outreach, noting that it assists over 10,000 children annually. The foundation’s programmes focus on essential needs such as food security, education, shelter, and medical care for underprivileged children.
The Budimas Home Charity Fund supports more than 50 childre
n’s homes, while the Budimas Food Charity Fund provides daily meals to over 5,000 children across 160 schools. Additionally, the foundation builds libraries for Orang Asli communities and partners with institutions like Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur to offer medical care to critically ill children.
