Alor setar: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has confirmed an incident involving a Malaysia Airlines Berhad aircraft at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport here, at 3.41 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, CAAM reported that the Boeing 737 aircraft, with registration number 9M-MXH, was scheduled to depart for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The aircraft aborted its take-off due to a tyre burst.
The authority stated on its Facebook post that all passengers and crew members are safe and have disembarked from the aircraft without any injuries.
In a related update, Malaysia Airports announced that the runway was reopened at 7.30 pm after obtaining final safety clearance from CAAM. Flight operations at the airport have since resumed as normal.
