Shenzhen: Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, progressed to the semi-finals of the China Masters 2025 after a victory over Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando-Bagas Maulana in the quarter-finals.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the former world champions maintained composure to clinch the win against the Indonesians, finishing with a 21-19, 21-18 straight sets victory at the Shenzhen Arena. In the upcoming semi-finals, Aaron-Wooi Yik will compete against their rivals Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty from India, with the Malaysian pair holding an 11-4 advantage in their head-to-head record.

In contrast, Malaysia’s national women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, faced a challenging match and were defeated in an 88-minute battle against South Korea’s Baek Ha Na-Lee So Hee, with scores of 21-23, 21-19, 20-22. This outcome equalized their head-to-head record at 3-3.
