KOTA BHARU: An elderly man was found dead in a well in Kampung Tasek Bakong, Pasir Mas, early this morning. Rantau Panjang Fire and Rescue Station chief Shapawi Stapa reported that the department received a call about the incident at 6.52 am, prompting a six-member team to be dispatched to the scene, where they discovered that a man had fallen into the well.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, firefighters extricated the victim, identified as Bahrom Ismail, aged 64. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.

Shapawi mentioned that information from villagers indicated the victim had gone to the well to perform his ablution. It is believed that he accidentally fell into the well. Despite attempts by residents to assist the victim, they were unable to do so due to the well’s depth, which extended up to five metres.
