From Gymnastic Floor To CDM, Farah Ann To Lead National Contingent In Manama


Kuala lumpur: From dazzling crowds on the gymnastics floor to now leading the country’s next generation of athletes, Farah Ann Abdul Hadi has been appointed as the Chef de Mission (CDM) of the Malaysian contingent to the Asian Youth Games (AYG) 2025 in Manama, Bahrain, from Oct 22-31.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) stated in a statement today that it believes the appointment, made in collaboration with the National Sports Council, symbolises the trust placed in a young and dynamic sports leader whose career is expected to inspire Malaysia’s budding athletes.



The OCM expressed confidence that Farah Ann would inspire and motivate members of the Malaysian Contingent to excel at the upcoming 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025. The council emphasized her proven leadership, career, and dedication to excellence, asserting that she will serve as a role model for the athletes, motivating them to strive for success on behalf of the nation.



Farah Ann’s impressive record includes winning a total of 12 medals at the SEA Games, with seven gold, two silver, and three bronze, across four editions in 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019. Beyond the SEA Games, she represented Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, 2014, and 2018, and at the Asian Games in 2014 and 2018.



Her career reached a significant milestone when she qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, becoming only the fourth Malaysian gymnast in history to compete in this prestigious global event.
