Klang: GM Klang now features a refreshed look with the addition of new tenants and a strengthened one-stop lifestyle centre concept that integrates shopping, fitness, recreation and community elements under one roof.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, GM Klang Senior Brand Communications Manager Norsuhaida Othman stated that the transformation aligns with efforts to drive domestic tourism while boosting the local economy in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, with a focus on delivering a more comprehensive and comfortable visitor experience.
'The restructuring of GM Klang focuses on the selection of strategic tenants and improvements to facilities for a better customer experience. These upgrades include the rebranding of retail spaces and improved visitor flow management to create a more conducive, family-friendly environment,' she said in a statement today.
She mentioned that new facilities now operational include KFitness, a modern gym with a contemporary indoor concept, Gen7 Snooker, a 24-hour snooker centre, and Doremart, which provides daily necessities at affordable prices. The combination of new tenants allows GM Klang to offer a more diverse experience, ranging from indoor fitness and recreational activities to retail and essential goods, thereby increasing visitor dwell time.
'The Gold Award recognition under the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) strengthens our commitment to maintaining high service standards. This recognition also serves as a foundation for continuous improvements in cleanliness, safety and facility management to ensure visitor comfort,' she said.
At the same time, Norsuhaida announced that Doremart will officially open at 9.30 am this Saturday, marking the first outlet of the Sarawak-based supermarket chain in Peninsular Malaysia, with GM Klang as its pilot location. The supermarket, spanning more than 10,000 sq ft, is expected to draw crowds ahead of Ramadan with a wide range of daily essentials and special promotions for visitors.
'The opening of Doremart completes the early phase of GM Klang's transformation by providing essential groceries and strengthening the centre's role as a daily needs destination. This step also supports GM Klang's strategy to increase visitor dwell time and diversify options in a single location,' she said.
In this regard, Norsuhaida noted that the ongoing initiatives are expected to further reinforce GM Klang's role as a regional trade, tourism and lifestyle hub, with an emphasis on sustainable growth and community engagement.
