Hajiji Commends Tun Juhar’s Role in Sabah’s Progress

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor lauded Tun Juhar Mahiruddin for his exceptional dedication and service during his 14-year tenure as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, emphasizing his significant contributions to the state's development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji highlighted Juhar's role in guiding Sabah through numerous pivotal events and developments across various sectors, including politics, economics, security, health, education, and religion. Juhar's leadership was instrumental during key historic events such as the 2013 intrusion by foreign nationals in Tanduo, Lahad Datu, and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hajiji noted the strong bond between the people of Sabah and Juhar, saying, "The people of Sabah, regardless of race, culture, religion, or beliefs, have consistently shown their affection and care towards Tun (Juhar) and his wife (Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni) in every programme they have graced."

During the Appreciation and Tribute Dinner held in Juhar's honor, Hajiji expressed the state's deep gratitude for Juhar's leadership over the past 14 years, extending well-wishes for him and his wife in their future endeavors.

Juhar's tenure as the 10th Sabah Governor concludes tomorrow, with former Chief Minister Tun Musa Aman set to take over as the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, effective Wednesday, January 1.
