History Subject Only Offered To Year 5 And 6 Pupils At Primary Level – MOE

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has clarified that the History subject is only offered to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at the primary school level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry issued a statement addressing media reports regarding the inclusion of the History subject at both primary and secondary school levels under the 2027 School Curriculum. The statement emphasized the specific offering of the subject to certain year groups.

The ministry noted that Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh provided an explanation during an oral question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat. He elaborated on the new curriculum set to commence next year, which involves Year 1 pupils and Form One students. The History subject will be offered at the primary school level to pupils in Year 5 and Year 6. For secondary school students, it will be available starting from Form One.
